Strangest of them all
Syren and Warlockk are the strangest Strangers of all; Co-founders of Phobia Productions, Syren and Warlockk work year round to create new terrors to amuse and entertain you with. And all while doing a great thing; raising money for charity.
2004 saw the beginning of it all. Warlockk had grown tired of the structured" You can't do this, you can't do that" attitude of a theme park haunt, so he left and said "why don't we do our own.
With about $100.00 and a group of teenage kids, Syren and Warlock build an "Up and Back" on the driveway/RV port of their house. Just asking for donations for "Trick or Treat for Unicef", they started something that they never thought would get this far.
In 2005; the haunt grew and took over the front & back yards as well. The group from 2004 had come back and brought friends with them. At just $2.00 admission, they raised almost $900.00 for charity in 6 nights time. Midnight Matinee was a huge hit!
But 2006 brought a small setback. Syren & Warlockk lost the home they were in and were forced to move into a small 1 bedroom apartment. And so Phobia Productions moved to Simi Valley. With the use of a residence there, Syren & Warlockk built what they could and asked family to help as their monsters from the year before could not make the hour drive each night to help. But they were still successful; raising about $200.00 for charity.
2007 saw the same location again but the crew changed. Still with help of family, Syren & Warlockk were able to get some help from their origins. The only thing missing was a loyal friend and haunter; David Lytle. They built even more this year and the haunt was about 2500 square feet of dark, drab Asylum terror. Again about $200.00 was raised and donated in Dave's name to the LiveStrong Cancer Foundation.
But with rising gas prices, Syren & Warlockk moved Phobia Productions 2008 event local to them. In another residence in Buena Park, Pagliacci's Circus came to colorful life. Clowns ran amuk & money was raised.
It was a great anniversary year... "Fears for 5 years!"
